Home Study Update

It's been 18 months since our last home study and things "expire", including our approval to adopt in Moldova, fingerprints and background checks. It's kind of weird that your fingerprints expire but it makes sense. They just want to make sure your criminal background has not changed in the past 18 months. As far as our approval to adopt, we had to fill out an I-800A Supplement 3 form and send it over to USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) before our expiration date. For those adopting, just keep a close eye on that so you're not rushing around last minute trying to send it to USCIS in time. We also had to get our home study updated by our Social Worker. This time around it was far less invasive. She just wanted to check in on how we were doing and if any big life changes happened since the last time she visited. Easy peasy. So now we continue to wait and pray.
